Rashaad Newsome: Midnight Moment in Times Square

Sep 01 2015 - Sep 30 2015

Marlborough Gallery is pleased to announce that Rashaad Newsome’s The Conductor (Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi), 2008, will be featured as September’s Midnight Moment in Times Square, presented nightly by The Times Square Advertising Coalition (TSAC) and Times Square Arts.  The video, an arrangement of hand gestures compiled from over one hundred hip-hop music videos, is accompanied by a composite audio mix juxtaposing songs deemed “Hip-Hop Greats” from a 2005 survey conducted by the artist and New York radio stations and Carl Orff’s grandiose Carmina Burana.

The Conductor (Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi) will be shown from 11:57pm to midnight on every night of the month of September with special live performances on September 22nd and 28th.
